EYE DROP APPOINTMENTS
AT OCC EYECARE
Eye drops are diagnostic tools that allow our doctors to fully examine your eye. There are many different types of drops that can potentially be used and are chosen based on the need or type of the examine. Generally, there are three different drops often used:
DILATING DROPS
These drops are administered to open up your pupil so that a full internal examination of the eye can be performed. These drops do blur your vision and increase sensitivity to light. It is advised that you are accompanied with a driver.
PRESSURE CHECK DROPS
These drops combine topical anaesthetic and a dye to check the intraocular pressure. These drops are short acting and do not impact your vision.
ANAESTHETIC DROPS
These drops when applied to the eye, numb the surface of the eye and can be used in a wide variety of applications including during laser treatments, injections to the eyes, ultrasound tests or to check eye pressure.
